Testing & Compatibility

When you create software, you want to make sure it will work for all your customers. Verifying that your software runs properly on many computers, with various versions of the operating system and in many circumstances is time-consuming and challenging, but it results in a better product with less technical support and more satisfied customers. There are many approaches to software testing, but standard procedures include testing on a range of systems, finding errors, tracking the nature and context of the problems, trying to debug them, and then reporting the problems that persist. These Testing & Compatibility pages offer some valuable testing resources, including how to set up your Macs for testing, backup solutions, using GDB, and changing your startup folder. Apple also provides compatibility labs that include hundreds of hardware and software configurations for use by ADC Premier and Select Program members. These labs can help guarantee a thorough and secure testing experience. Read more...
